As part of the Taxiway Victor & Bravo Rehabilitation Project, the Port of Oakland has closed Taxiway Bravo at Oakland International Airport to perform construction activities. Taxiway Bravo connects the South Field to the North Field. During the period from Tuesday, September 28th to Saturday, October 2, 2021, cargo jet departures and arrivals will be permitted on North Field and some operations will occur during the night hours.
The Port of Oakland performs this rehabilitation to ensure the taxiway remains functional and safe. Fleet Week 2021 is scheduled from Sunday, October 3rd through Monday, October 11th, 2021. Air show performers will include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, and other military and general aviation performers who will be based and utilizing the North Field at Oakland International Airport.
Blue Angels will arrive on Sunday, October 3rd at 6:00 p.m. Media flights will be flown on Wednesday, October 6th from 10:00 a.m. thru 5:00 p.m. Practice sessions are scheduled on Thursday, October 7th at 1:00 pm. The Fleet Week air show is scheduled on October 8th to October 10th, starting at 10:00 am each day. The Blue Angels will depart on Monday, October 11th at 10:00 a.m. All times are approximate and are subject to weather and other delays. During practice sessions and the air show demonstrations, airport neighbors will experience an unusual level of aircraft activity and noise. Closing portions of Taxiway Bravo will limit access to the South Field; please expect corporate and cargo jet departures and arrivals on North Field. Aircraft will overfly residential areas and residents may experience unusual aircraft noise.
